-Desert Dreams-

Beyond the Tigris stream along the desert plain
was a Sumerian bard who wove a song of dream.

Singing of a Jordan prince
resting on a pasture green.

And she was heard and she was seen
dancing a minstrel's seeming.

And she was heard and she was deemed
everlasting girl of dreaming.

Fate chanced the Sumerian maid
who held the power of dream.
Always singing alongside this tiny
little Babylonian stream
Of bliss that wore upon pastures
lush and green.

This I think I dreamed,
once upon a long ago dream.
