-Painter Lass-

If I were a painter lass
I'd like to paint you a world
where I would leave out the razor.
I'd use the softest brush to draw you
a haven under the twilight and
leave you undisturbed in quiet slumber.

If I were a wild little painter lass
I'd paint you in the quietest shades
of your favorite color.

Those who hurt you I would leave behind
on the pallate.

If I were your favorite painter lass
I'd like to paint my emotions across
the wide open sea
so you could see my thoughts ride the tides;
they wouldn't seem so mysterious and aloof there.
I'd like to paint your hair wild and unbridled-
unadulteratedly beautiful.

If I could be such a painter lass to you,
I would paint you a world
where the silent speak clear
and the loud hush themselves to hear.
