-Penelope By the Sea-

Penelope by the sea
was an enchanting girl indeed,
with a pixie smile and hair so long
she quietly muses a siren’s song.

So many would-be lovers wished her hand
but none made it to the shore-side sand
where Penelope by the Sea stood tall
and silently harkened her siren’s call.
I cannot help but love her still,
against my heart-caged weakened will,
for Penelope wheedles my heart to sing,
echoing softly against her song-set ring.

I wished my innocence into graceful asunder
and in all wretched merriment I stand to wonder...
How, now, has it come to pass
that I lost my hard-won will so fast?

But now I’ll stand here wretched-be
waiting for this love-spell to set me free.
But with my flower girl gone I cannot see
anything other than
beloved Penelope by the sea.
